Dec 10: From Big Island to Kauai, via Oahu

Just a few photos of our trip to the island of Kauai via Oahu.  Here we're flying over a suburb of Honolulu:

The airport in Honolulu has two large open-air courtyards that are behind security, so you can go sit in them while you wait for your plane, and commune with the birds (who had better have security clearance!)

We flew to Kauai and landed in Lihu'e.  Here's our first view of the island:

On the drive to our destination of Waimea, we passed by the Hanapepe valley and stopped at the Lookout:

Across the street from the restaurant where we had supper, was this historical building, I think it was a school back in the day, but now it's a community center:

Here's a sunset view from the beach that's a couple of blocks from our little hotel.  The changeable weather that has been plaguing us does make for a very pretty sunset:

Tomorrow we are hoping for half decent weather so that we can go see the Waimea canyon!
