Here's what Grise Fiord looked like at lunchtime today. The sun will come up on February 11, only three weeks still to go. I'm happy just to have a little bit of light, but the darkness doesn't really bother me that much. It's surreal, but cozy. That said, I have never been up here for more than half the dark season ... if I was here for the whole 3.5 months of darkness, I might be a little more anxious to see the actual sun come back!
