July in Grise Fiord

Here are some photos from July in Grise Fiord.

These are from a walk on July 20, upstream along the river that flows through town.

The next two are from July 21, from a walk along the beach west of town:

These three are from along the same beach, but 3 days later on July 23, when it snowed on and off much of the day.  Some of the snow accumulated along the shoreline.  It was foggy too when I went out walking.

The next one is from much better weather on July 26, walking east of town:

Next is the arctic sailing ship "Vagabond", owned and sailed by a crew from France.  They were stopping briefly in Grise to visit, before heading off on this year's scientific expedition.  (They spent two winters in Grise Fiord doing ice research, around 20111-2013.)

Just a nice picture of the shoreline in town on July 28, taken from the east:

Some interesting clouds from July 29:

On my walk on July 30, fog moved into town while I was still walking to the east, here is a photo of it, I ended up walking into it as I returned to the health centre:

And that's it for the photos from July.  I'll be back soon with a few from August.
