The DASH bus

Los Angeles is not the most progressive place for public transit, but one great thing they have is their DASH buses.

These are different from the regular buses, they travel short, popular routes, and cost just 25 cents.  Most routes are downtown, although there are a few in other areas of the city too.  Sometimes they're even free- there's one on the weekend connecting the two main pavillions of MOCA, and if you show your admission ticket, you get to save your quarter!

They're comfortable and clean too- look, it's January, and no slush on the floor or the windows!  California has the perfect climate for using transit and cycling, I hope they keep expanding these options.

  1. Interesting. The TTC in Toronto has just raised prices to $3 (for one way!).
