Sushi is cheaper here

At Trader Joe's (grocery store), they have platters of sushi, 16 pieces for $5.99. Wow! And, they are even fresh and tasty! In Ottawa, if they have sushi rolls at all in the stores, they are bland and dry and around $8 for 6.

Comes with a little bucket of ginger slices, soy sauce packets, and wasabi. I'm hooked. Six different rolls, too:

Original California Roll
Shrimp Nigiri
Sunshine Roll
Spicy California Roll with Vegetable Tempura and Spinach
Classic with Avocado Roll
Spicy California Roll

  1. Well, I am not a huge fan of sushi but I have to admit it looks good. Very colorful food! How was it??

  2. Wow - $5.99 for that huge platter! They have sushi at the mall here in Kingston but its about 3 times the price. I guess proximity to the ocean helps. It's hard to be a seafood lover in Ontario...
